Grants of Probate & Letters of Administration in 7 Days!

The Western Australian Supreme Court is granting well-prepared Applications for Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration in about 7 days at the moment.

However, if you choose to have the Grant posted out to you, rather than collecting it from the registry, it takes another 2 weeks to arrive by Post.  We are not sure why.

If you are administrator of an estate pursuant to a grant of Letters of Administration, we have developed a very useful spreadsheet which shows how the estate needs to be distributed in accordance with the Administration Act 1903 (WA).  You insert figures in relation the value of the estate, the date of death and the anticipated date of distribution, and then select the deceased’s close relative from some drop-down menus, and the spreadsheet works out whom of the close relatives are entitled to be an administrator (they have to be 18+) and how much each will inherit.  Below is an example.
