Terminating A Building Contract

We received some instructions this week to help terminate a building contract.

There has been a litany of issues during the build.

It is not 51 days since so-called practical completion, which was already over due by months, and the builder is not prepared to compensate my client for the extra rent he had to pay.

The builder is still yet to finish all the works, including connecting the solar panels.

He has also failed to account properly for provisional sum and prime cost items.

We have asked for a schedule of incomplete items.

Next our client will probably have to complete all the unfinished work himself and go to arbitration to sort out the damages.

For Building Disputes, see Michael Paterson & Associates.
