Today Michael will be in Court most of the day attending a mediation in which he will be trying to settle six related Court actions.
One is an action claiming various breaches of trust in relation to a family discretionary trust that was establish in 1977.
One claim is that a deed that added a person as a general beneficiary was invalid.
That person is now deceased and the plaintiffs in the first action are suing the estate claiming that inadequate provision was made for them. By our calculations, however, they each received assets and cash worth in excess in $1.5 million, so we believe that was more than adequate provision was made by their father, and they are just being greedy and vexatious. One daughter already had over $1 million in her own name.
It will be interesting.
