Last week we finalising the paperwork for the transfer of a liquor licence.
It proved to be a bit trickier than was expected due to liquor licensing requiring a profit-share approval application to be made before my client enters into a franchise agreement with a large hotel chain franchisor, due to the franchisor taking a percentage of the room fees as part of the franchise fee.
We ended up getting the parties to amend the original agreement remove the franchise from the deal for the time being, which we managed in 24 hours despite two parties in Bali, one in China for Chinese New Year and one in Perth. The paperwork was sent to Liquor Licensing and the licence was granted later that day, much to everyone surprise.
Our clients will now lodge the necessary profit-share application, and an application to change the name.
It might be a good venue for a function.
