We were seeking an adjournment of a hearing which was set for last Friday, due to one of our clients having had a recent double mastectomy and being told not to do anything too stressful.
The Claimant would not agree to an adjournment, because her husband is dying and she wanted it out of the road.
We made an urgent application to adjourn which was in our client’s best interest and the other lady suggesting how she should have been spending time with her husband rather than a full day hearing.
Then our client’s husband disappeared with no use of phone or credit card for the week, giving us further grounds for an adjournment because our client was beside herself.
We learnt yesterday that the husband had been found after an absence of over a week. I have not got the full story yet, but he is getting help.
